BIOGRAPHY
Lorena Alvarez was born in Mexico and raised partly in Milwaukee, but mainly in Mexico City. She has lived in Brazil, Mexico and various states in the United States. She received her Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design with a Minor in Illustration from Universidad Anahuac, in Mexico City. She earned her Master of Fine Arts in Computer Art with a concentration in Motion Graphics in Savannah College of Art and Design, in Georgia. For the next years she worked in her field, Graphic Design, started her freelance business and has been raising a family. Following the example of Grandma Moses, who turned to an art career only until she retired from her farm duties, Lorena saw the opportunity to change careers once her children became self-sufficient. She is currently pursuing a Master in Fine Arts Degree in Painting with a Minor in Printmaking where she was awarded a graduate assistantship.
